International travellers to Hong Kong will now enjoy free transport to Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, Macau authorities have announced.
According to a Monday announcement by the Tourism Office, the free service will become available on Tuesday, 20 January.
The measure, aimed at extending international visitation from neighbouring Hong Kong to Macau, however, does not apply to travellers from the Greater China region.
Free coach rides will be offered until 31 December 2026, the authorities said.
Ticket redemption will take place within the restricted area, where designated counters will be set up for this purpose.
Official records show that international arrivals in Macau in 2025 were over 80 per cent of the pre‑Covid level.
In 2019, Macau welcomed about 3 million visitors from abroad.
In November 2025, South Korea was the largest foreign market, followed by the Philippines and Malaysia.
