Samgakbong Shelter is the last rest area/shelter along the Gwaneumsa Trail. It is the checkpoint for climbers to proceed to the summit of Mount Hallasan.
For October to March, the cut-off time is 11.30am and from April to September, it is 12.30pm. Refer to photo attached below.
Climbers who arrive at this checkpoint later than the above stated times are not allowed to proceed to the summit.
There is a roofed shelter and toilet here. It is clean and well-maintained by the park authorities.
